Gallery wall

If you plan to mount your TV on the wall, it’s a great idea to create a gallery wall around the TV (see here). This will help camouflage it and make it less of an eyesore. These days you can even buy TVs that double as artwork, displaying art on the screen when the TV is not in use.

Box it up

Another great option is to put your TV inside a cabinet that opens when you want to watch it, and can be closed for TV-free times. Use floor-to-ceiling cabinets or bookshelves with adjustable shelving.

Go dark

Paint one wall a dark colour and then mount the TV on that wall. This easy camouflaging trick will mean your TV draws much less attention to itself.

Cover it up

If you have a wall-mounted TV, install a curtain rod above it. Then, when you want to cover the TV, you can hang a textile over it for instant art! Make sure you turn off the power first.
